Design Indaba Festival 2019 Identity
This year the Design Indaba conference had an overarching focus on AI and what AI can do for you with the ideology of support being a nuance, too. I conceptualised that it would only be fitting to create an identity that pays homage to the theme by creating an identity mimicking AI by randomisation scripts. Dimensions were set and physics were added to the shapes. The computer then does the rest by selecting the shapes and dropping them into each unique layout. Each composition was unique as the shapes bounce and fall into different positions depending on their interactions with one another. Each execution is completely different, which extends the identity into something unexpected and modular. The organic nature of the falling shapes leaning on one another is intended to communicate the concept of a support structure.
